Landon Lately

Can you believe these cute cheeks will be 7 months old tomorrow?! He has been up to no good lately. He has been crawling for about 3 weeks now. It's a good thing our apartment came baby proofed. His favorite thing to play with is the air conditioning vent. I think he likes the noise it makes, but its pretty fun to watch him explore. Sometimes he will just lay on the ground and look at things. Yesterday he was giggling at the smallest things. It was too cute.

A few of his favorite foods consist of: pears, squash, sweet potatoes, apples, bananas, carrots and peaches. We tried to feed him peas (the devil's vegetable) however, he literally gagged. It was sad, but hilarious. He doesn't have any teeth yet. He takes after me I guess. I didn't get teeth until 9-12 months.

We went to his 6 month appointment a few weeks ago. He is weighing 17 lbs. His shots were awful, because I took him by myself. I always feel like a jerk! He only cried for a few seconds and then smiled really big at the nurse. It was funny.

He is quickly growing out of his 6 month clothes. We have been buying footless pajamas so that he can wear them longer. :)

Anyway, thats whats going on with our little man lately. Grandpa & Grandma from England come in 2 weeks. Oh, and I can't forget about Uncle Greg, Aunt Sara, Uncle Jeremey, Uncle Paul, and Aunt Brit... (this little boy will be smothered with love!) WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!

Surprise!

Last weekend we made a surprise trip to Montana. We all piled into a 12 passenger van/shuttle (aka The Lucky Clover) and headed up to Great Falls for a few days. The crew consisted of: Josh, me, Landon, Annie, Kevin, Chris and Karen. It was pretty comfortable, and there was so much space.
We walked in 2 by 2 and surprised Josh's mom, Chris, at her work. It was pretty funny; we thought she was going to faint.

While we were up there, we all relaxed and just hung out. We celebrated Josh's 25th birthday and Father's Day, too. It was overall a good trip. We loved being in Montana for a few days.

Playing extreme spoons. At times I felt like my life was in danger, but it was fun.

Landon loves ice. Plus, he looks cute eating it.
Landon & Uncle Matt after he came home from Griz camp. He's a happy boy!

Lately

I've neglected my blog once again. We've had quite a bit going on for the month of June. Joshs brother, Kevin, ran his first marathon. He ran the Utah Valley Marathon in Provo. He did awesome! He ran it in 3 hours 56 minutes. My cousin, who is a Marathon-addict, said that is a pretty good time for a marathon virgin. We woke up early (7am on a Saturday... geez!) and cheered him on. I'd post pictures, but I didn't take any. Oops!

I am still working at Central Utah Clinic. I have been working in the "up and coming" Call Center. We are taking all incoming calls for Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Family Medicine in Provo. It's going well, but it's definitley been a learning experience! I have met one of the coolest friends ever, Mandy. Let's just say, I get to laugh 40 hours a week, 5 days a week. It's been really fun so far!
Josh is going to school during the summer. He's only taking a few classes, and working full-time for The Church. I am sure he's used to school/work non-stop, but he's a trooper. We are counting down semesters until he is done. April 2013, are you here yet!?
Landon is going to turn 6 months next week. I have mixed feelings about this. He is becoming so playful and vocal, but I miss my little 6 pound baby. He can roll all over the place, so I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to crawl soon. He's been eating rice cereal for the past month, and he still doesn't really like it. Hopefully, he will like baby food more! He still sleeps through the night like a champ. Josh and I were blessed with a really good baby.

Here's a picture of his cute face!

I will post soon about our surprise trip to Montana!

Easter weekend

During Easter weekend, Josh's mom and brother came to visit. We had a lot of fun! We stuffed ourselves of grilled pineapple and meat at Rodizio Grill

We dyed Easter eggs (Landon wasn't interested)

We dressed up for Easter (Isn't he so cute!?)

Landon hung out with Grandma Chris while Josh and I had to work. She took him to get pictures taken. (He's spoiled!) Here are a few of my favorites. I can't get enough of his cute face!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

My little family

Day 26- Something that means alot to you

I have avoided this post for so long because I couldn't come up with anything unique. I don't have any particular talents, like the piano or singing.

My most obvious answer would be my son, Landon. I won't go into a huge, long story, but I have wanted to be mom for as long as I can remember. I loved babies and little kids. I always wanted to hold all the babies at church. When we decided we wanted to start our family, we had a hard time getting pregnant. Once we had been trying for 1 year, I never thought I'd get the chance to have children of my own. I was being a little dramatic, but I felt that it was never going to happen.

I am grateful for the opportunity I have to raise this cute boy and be his mommy. He makes me so happy and when I have a bad day, he makes everything go away. I love kissing his cheeks and he has the cutest gummy smile. He doesn't just mean alot to me; he means the world to me.

Landon's Blessing

This past Sunday we blessed Landon. Josh's parents made the drive from Montana and some of his other family from Salt Lake were able to attend. It was a great day and Landon loved the attention. Josh did a wonderful job with the blessing and I just sat there and cried. That was my only job of the day. I was so grateful my husband was able to bless our son and I really missed my dad. I was really sad he wasn't in the circle. Another reason why England is too far away... Besides me missing my family, it was really nice to be surrounded by my other family. Plus, Landon looked so cute in his outfit! (Thanks, Grandma Chris!)

This is one of my favorite pictures because he was so mad. All he wanted to do was eat!

Portland

It's a month late but I should probably blog about my sisters wedding. My sister Brittany got married in Portland, OR in January. We managed to make the long drive to Oregon to attend. Landon did great in the car because, he slept most of the way. The perks of roadtripping with a week old baby. :) I survived, too! Having a c-section was not going to stop me from being there.

The only reason anyone wanted us there was to see Landon anyway ;) Just kidding! (kind of!). My mom bought him the cute tuxedo outfit in England. We were surprised how popular he ended up being because of the outfit. At the Olive Garden luncheon, the head manager came out to see him! Honestly, I don't blame her! He was the best dressed at the wedding, besides Brit & Paul.

Anyway, it was a great trip! We headed to Voodoo Doughnut after the reception. They have some pretty cool donuts! My dad & I stayed in the car with Landon while everyone else went in, but I heard the inside was really interesting. Josh had a cocoa puff donut and said it was delicious. We figured we had to go to a Portland hotspot while we were there to make our trip complete!
Anyway, Brittany looked gorgeous, like usual! We're so excited for Paul to be a part of
the family now. It was fun to see everyone and for Landon to meet more family. It was a fun trip!

1 month

Landon is 1 month old and I can honestly say time has flown by. Why didn't it go this fast during my pregnancy!? Here are some fun facts about him....

-loves taking baths
-tries to climb up your chest if you are holding him
-loves his binky
-loves to eat his hands :)
-starting to make funny noises
-likes tummy time
-giggles & smiles in his sleep
-can hold his head up by himself
-sleeps 3-4 hours at a time at night (pretty good for a newborn if you ask me!)
-doesn't like being swaddled

A few pictures of the cute boy himself:

I'm sad that he isn't so little anymore, but I love that he is more active and playful everyday. I'll try to post more pictures of him since he is just so cute!
